Daniel was our second child — a little boy we were joyfully expecting to welcome into our family in April 2023. Unfortunately, one week before his due date, at a routine doctor’s appointment, we received the devastating news that his heart had stopped beating. What followed after that appointment lives in our memories forever — the trauma, the shock, and the unimaginable pain of saying goodbye far too soon. It’s a pain we still carry, and a love we’ll never stop holding onto.

Through Daniel’s Drive, we have a mission of honoring our son’s life by helping provide better bereavement support to those experiencing the loss of an infant. Out of our heartbreak grew a desire to create change — to ensure that no family walks through loss alone.

Each year, we host an annual golf tournament to commemorate Daniel’s birthday. This event allows us to raise funds to donate Caring Cradles to hospitals across Georgia. These cooling devices give families the precious gift of time to create memories before they have to say goodbye — something we didn’t have in our journey. We know firsthand how much even a little more time with Daniel would have meant to us.

Donating Caring Cradles not only fills a critical gap in hospital bereavement care, but it has also helped our hearts heal. Through this work, we’ve launched new initiatives like the Legacy Cradle Project, which helps other families raise funds in memory of their babies. There is something powerful about seeing your child’s name attached to something that brings comfort and hope to others — especially in a place where you once felt so much pain.

We also donate a portion of the tournament proceeds to an organization close to our hearts, Hugs for Harrison, to help them continue providing care beyond the hospital. They offer 1:1 counseling and ongoing support to grieving families at no cost. We connected with H4H early in our own loss journey, and the care they provided helped us learn what it means to grieve well. Their ministry has been truly life-changing, and we’re deeply committed to ensuring other families can experience the same comfort and guidance.

Every initiative we pursue is rooted in love, compassion, and the desire to ensure that no family endures the loss of a baby without time, support, and hope. Through Daniel’s Drive, we bring comfort, awareness, and lasting change, one cradle at a time.
